The Start of Summer in the ‘Burg

Summer has officially started for me in Blacksburg.  I had a nice break in between the craziness of teaching, final papers, and grading and was able to enjoy Blacksburg before it started raining for a week.  I finally returned to the New River here in Blacksburg (as close to a beach as I’m gonna get in Southwest VA).  Its about 25 minutes away from campus and its a river set right alongside the mountains- very pretty and a chill place to spend the afternoon. Activities included making Dexter (Matt’s dog) go swimming.

I think we enjoyed it more than he did.

Since we BBQ’d with friends for Memorial Day, I organized my life and started my internship. Three of my friends got engaged (Congrats Ryan & Gina, Ben& Tracy, and Pete!)….and I found out I’m gonna be an “Aunt”, Congrats- Becky&Will!

My first blog…

I declared starting a blog as a summer project, and well….here I am. I just finished my first year of graduate school at Virginia Tech and am looking forward to a summer interning and hanging out in Blacksburg. Other summer ‘09 projects include: getting back in shape, learning more about design programs (I designed my header, as amateur as it may be, still an accomplishment! ha), build a personal Web site,  re-build my music library and take many trips to the beach.

I get distracted a lot, thus the name of my blog – so what follows will no doubt be very random.
